Pat has always loved racing and race cars.  He began tagging along with his"uncle",
Bunky Hays. At the age of 12, he did his first lettering job when he painted crew and
family names on Bunky's car.  In high school, Pat and a couple of his buddies got a
car together and hit Eau Claire Speedway.

In 1974, he met and married Cincy, with whom he is happily married today.
In '75 he began working part-time at Hense Signs in Eau Claire.  After five years of closely
learning, observing and refining his craft, Pat picked up his first "real"
lettering job on the #8 "The Duck" of Gary Dorn.

Since then and up to 2002, he has lettered numerous cars to include: John
Kaanta , Red Steffen, Ron Schriener, ASA late model Steve Burgess, Tom
Steuding, Jerry Redetzke, the Mahder gang, Robear Deilke, Mike Vold,
and many others including the current stable of cars he's done.

In 2002, Pat hopped on board with the growing trend of vinyl graphics and
bought a cutter and computer.  With a bunch of help from his friend and
fellow sign-guy, Kurt Gaber (Gaber Signs), Pat has gotten quite proficient
with computer-generated graphics and design.
